We wanted to bring the value of Vinson to life for educators and administrators in Ohio, so we produced this short video to help explain what we do, what we don’t do, and how we make life easier for stakeholders in the EMIS reporting process.

Vinson has never been so animated!

Educators across Ohio are all familiar with Vinson and what we do — after all, we’ve been helping K-12 districts, educational service centers, and career technical centers across the state optimize their EMIS data and get all the funding they deserve since 2016.

All the same, we wanted to challenge ourselves to make something that could explain the value we bring to educators in a way that was as concise and engaging as possible. The result is our EMIS Reporting optimization explainer video, which is now officially online!

What Vinson Does

Our new video uses a winning combination of animation and voiceover to definitively explain how Vinson and our CheckPoint EMIS compliance software do all of the following:

• Ensure compliance with EMIS reporting standards
  
• Get districts, ESCs, and career technical centers every dollar of state funding they’re entitled to
  
• Identify and correct reporting errors with ease
  
• Help you give students the resources they need to succeed
  

From establishing accountability to eliminating costly errors, the video makes it perfectly clear to both current and future customers how Vinson streamlines the complex, tedious processes tied up in EMIS reporting. Treasurers, Superintendents, and other district stakeholders should now rest easy with the knowledge of exactly how CheckPoint ensures their reporting is accurate and compliant with state standards.

What Vinson Doesn’t Do

The video also takes care to clear up some common misconceptions about what Vinson does:

We’re not a replacement for your EMIS coordinator: In fact, we work to make your EMIS coordinator’s job much easier, giving him or her the tools they need to do their job more efficiently.

We’re not a Student Information System: Our CheckPoint EMIS platform finds and fixes errors in your existing SIS, ensuring that all those records are accurate and ready for submission to the state Department of Education.

By clearing up these misunderstandings from the outset, we hope to start out on the right foot with educators and help them understand exactly where we fit into their current EMIS reporting processes.
